Lost Wages
After being dragged over the slippery cobblestone streets in my stillettos by my husband, we finally arrived to find out that it was closed due to a private party. I was so disappointed that it ruined my entire night.
We ended up at the Wynn and ate at their Asian fusion restaurant and since I discovered that I left my ID back at the hotel, there was no clubbing for me. The trip just got worse and worse.
Unfortunately, I have had no luck with Las Vegas. My trips there always lead to disppointment. In my case there is never anything to keep secret in Vegas. So what happens in Vegas can be spread all around. No scandal for me.

Trying to wait until I have a Rave

Sorry Sofia Coppola
I'm sorry Sofia but I just didn't like your movie, "Marie Antoinette". The trailer was exquisite! I was fully in love with the trailer. The sweeping landscape, the absolute grandeur of Versailles. The beauty of the clothes and....the shoes. Just lovely.
But then flash forward to the movie and I was left with an empty space in my heart. There was no body to this movie. There was no character development. If I did not know the story, then I would be lost. I would not understand half of what was going on. I had to constantly explain different things to my husband so that he could follow along. Then the end..it just fell flat. It just ended...quite simply. It was just over.
I'm very disappointed, I want to feel what Marie Antoinette felt. When she got dissed, I wanted to feel that. When she was at the height of her grandeur, I want to feel that as well. But it was like watching a slideshow of someone's life without the benefit of their narration. It was lots of pretty pictures but no plot. I was devastated. I was really looking forward to a good period piece.
Maybe next time.

I'm addicted

I don't know what happened. One minute I was content and blissfully ignorant of the hysteria and now...I'm engulfed. I mean I heard all the squawking about what a good show this was and how no one could wait until the next episode. Even my online friends would post "spoilers" and predictions but I never thought I could get sucked into this vortex. No matter how nice my online friends are...They are responsible for my destruction. One seemly innocent member just mentioned that you can watch whole episodes of this show on ABC's website for free and that people should check it out if they missed an episode or if they didn't have a :::gasp::: TiVo.
So, while doing a boring activity or two on my computer, I decided to take a look. Well, that is all it took! I am now shamelessly addicted to this show. I hear all the chatter about this hot guy or that hot girl that has other people addicted but it is the content that really has me hooked. I cannot remember a show that has been put out lately that is hugely constructed around character development. I really care about these characters and enjoy the ups and downs of their lives. Shoot, I can even empathize with some of them. It is quite cathartic.
Lately, I have not been able to get INTO shows on primetime. The trend was more toward the action or the various events in the show, not the actual characters. I like the characters. I like to get to know them as they learn to know themselves. The CSI's and other crime dramas are good but what I am really interested in is the human feelings and development. Therefore, I am happy that there is a program that is focusing on that and for all my rants about having yet another television show to TIVO, I am glad to add this to my list.

Here's....Sasha
There she is! The little squirmer. What a handful. I have already given her a bath and she already stinks! What to do..what to do!
Anyway, she has already been to the vet twice and diagnosed with kennel cough. So she is now on antibiotics but it hasn't slowed her down one bit. I was kind of hoping that it would make her slightly sluggish. But not this one. She is a playful as ever.
The only thing that I can't wait for is for her to be potty trained!

America's Next Top Model
I think Meg blew it when she broke down and cried. I think the judges really liked her 'rock on attitude' and when she cried that facade was gone. Being a contestant is obviously really hard on the nerves. I am sad that Meg didn't make it.
I have A.J. to take the crown. I love everything about this girl, her look and her attitude. She is absolutely fierce in my opinion. So, ;et's see if the judges see what I see.
And for my rant...I hate Melrose. Can't stand her face...she looks kind of old to me...really can't stand the personality. YUCK!
Can't wait to see the challenge next week and can't wait to see who gets voted off next. Hopefully Jaeda.

"And the shipping is free!"
New beginnings
We got a maltese puppy. She is really cute too. I named her Verushka at first but that proved too hard to say. So, I named her Sasha instead. So, of course my husband takes off for 2 weeks and leaves me with 1 dog and a puppy. I, of course, have never taken care of a puppy by myself but I was determined not to let her take over my life! So, she has had to learn a couple of lessons so far. Like, there will be no whining at 2am and that she will have to be confined because she cannot control her bladder yet.
I hope that Sasha will become like our other dog whom is cute, quiet and housebroken soon. I'm lucky though because she learns fast! This has already shown me, in all of 2 days that I am not ready for kids yet. Sasha is not too much of a problem but I can see how a child could take up googobs of time and change my schedule in so many different ways. I don't think that I am ready for those changed yet.
So, all in all, it seems that maybe this came at the right time. Now, I know that I am capable of taking care of a baby animal and still keep time for me. But I also know that I am not yet ready for my life to be dictated by a small being. So, here's to new beginnings.

Why can't people walk in a straight line?
Then there are the bad drivers...Those people who cut in front of you while you are walking and then slow down to a snails pace. I mean if they are in such a hurry to cut you off you would think that they would be hauling butt to get to their destination but noooo. They just make you just about run up their back.
There are also the people who misjudge their size and are always trying to squeeze into a space that is just too small for them. As a result they bump you or your bag or just shove you out of the way.
It is unbearable sometimes. I just want to yell, "Get outta my way!" Now I see why New Yorkers have that stereotype of being rude. Some people just drive you to it!

Little pieces of paper everywhere
Just today I remembered a friend called like 3 weeks ago and I did not have time to call her back so I wrote it on a piece of paper. Fast forward to today. I am just sitting on the couch minding my own business and her name pops into my head. I think, "Ooh, I've got to call her back before she thinks that I don't want to talk to her". So, I start rambling around the house for the phone number. I have a huge stack of papers in the dining room and I start looking through those. No dice. I look through the stuff piled on my desk, no number. I look everwhere...no number. Frustration sets in. Then I finally find one of her business cards and give her a call. Phew! Mission accomplished.
Of course tomorrow I will find that piece of paper that has her number on it. That is always the way it goes.

First Post
It didn't last long, well my last post was the night before the wedding. So, time has passed and we just celebrated our 2nd anniversary and I am ready to give this another stab. I have so many random thoughts and questions that I thought that this would be the perfect place to share them especially since I moved to New York and see crazy stuff every day.
Enjoy my random rants and probably less likely raves!
